Sensitivity & Access Control
Religious archives frequently contain sensitive personal data — safeguarding records, medical information, personnel files. AtoM's access restriction and closure date mechanisms let you control exactly what is publicly visible, what requires registration, and what remains restricted.
Multi-Institution Deployments
Diocesan archives often hold records from multiple parishes and institutions. We have experience configuring AtoM for multi-repository deployments — one public catalogue presenting records from across a diocese or province under a single searchable interface.
ISAD(G) and ICA Standards
AtoM is built on ISAD(G), ISAAR(CPF), and other ICA standards — the same standards taught in archival training and endorsed by the Archives and Records Association. Your descriptions will be structured correctly from the start.
Realistic Budgets
Religious archives rarely have large budgets. We work within yours. There is no annual software licence — AtoM is free and open-source. You pay a fixed monthly hosting fee that covers everything: infrastructure, support, backups, and upgrades.
From Paper to Public Catalogue
Many religious archives are still on Word documents, card indexes, or Excel sheets. We convert your existing finding aids into a properly structured online catalogue. You don't need to start from scratch.
